The Stern-Technology Center: Intensive Research and Development

Innovation takes passion, enthusiasm, and curiosity. That’s exactly what Hydrosol’s team for application-oriented Research & Development brings every day. In 4000 square meters of lab space, they create innovative ideas that improve our customers’ products or even make them possible in the first place. Hydrosol’s specialists have all the applications technology resources they need and plenty of room to think through and test innovative solutions. This naturally takes place in close collaboration with customers as well as with colleagues in the Group’s other specialist companies.

Our trial laboratories for meat and fish products, dairy products, ice cream, and deli foods are fitted out with the latest equipment. Our entire Technology Center bundles 12 special laboratories into a high-performance research unit.

Taste Excellence Center

Regular tastings and sensory evaluations are indispensable for top results, and have been part of our product development for several years.

With the Taste Excellence Center we are taking this testing to a more objective level. A trained sensory panel evaluates products using standardized processes. A sensory room with five cabins and modern equipment assists in the independent and objective assessment of the products.

For example, customers can use our sensory panel for products that aren’t going so well. If desired, based on the results we can develop approaches for improving the taste, texture, color, and mouthfeel.
